Amphotericin B risk of nephrotoxicity

Amphotericin B
  • Conventional- amphotericin B deoxycholate (eg:Fungizone)
  • Lipid-based formulations - Lipid complex (eg: ABLC, Abelcet), Cholesteryl complex (eg:colloidal dispersion, ABCD, Amphotec), Liposomal (eg: Ambisome)
  • Conventional amphotericin B had more nephrotoxicity cases compared to Lipid-based amphotericin B
