Any space with alphabets, either capital R or small r, indicate that the two overlapping drugs have some similar side chain.
Therefore, choosing another drug that has no common side chain may help to eliminate the cross-allergy risk - HOWEVER, this is only true if the patient is NOT:
(a) allergic to the whole group of penicillin / cephalosporin / carbapenem OR
(b) allergic to all beta lactam members.
Statistically, based on literature, there is 5-25% chance of cross allergy between peniciilin and cephalosporin.
