MMR stands for Measles-Mumps-Rubella vaccine. Previously much controversy was associated with children who get immunised with MMR and go on to develop autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
This association was derived via the findings of ASD in children aged between 1-2 years old; when the MMR vaccination was scheduled to take place.
This question in the heads of parents left many children deprived of their scheduled MMR vaccination. however, in studies done recently, it is clear that no link is found between MMR vaccination and ASD. [1]
Also in addition to that dilemma, researchers also found that the incidences of ASD in younger siblings do not change although an older sibling with ASD has received MMR vaccination or not. [2]
Conclusion: No link was found between MMR vaccination and ASD in children.
